8:20 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by McKenzie Miller, 24, of Penn Township collided with a pickup truck at Main and Jefferson streets. Police said Miller was cited for driving with an expired vehicle registration. Patrick Rape, 45, of Oakland Township was driving the pickup.8:05 a.m. Saturday — It was a rough morning for 34-year-old Justin P. Angerette, whose neighbor's home at 116 South St. caught fire.Next, a Butler Fire Department engine called to the fire struck the back of Angerette's car parked in front of his home at 114½ South St. An angry Angerette became "extremely irate and started shouting obscenities" at firefighters, a police report said.A police officer told Angerette to stop "disrupting fire department operations," the report said. When he wouldn't, police said, he was detained and placed in the back of a patrol car.He remained in the car until the fire was out. When police let him go, he was told to expect a citation for disorderly conduct.12:52 p.m. Sunday — A Butler Township woman's purse was stolen from St. Paul's Church on North McKean Street. The woman told police her purse was on a chair when she left a room; when she returned a short time later, the purse was gone.The red cloth purse with a floral print contained $65 and other items.Friday — Three solar lights were stolen overnight from the front yard of a home in the 100 block of Second Street.
7:48 p.m. Sunday — William Dellich, 22, of West Sunbury was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 in Chicora.Sunday — A global positioning system unit worth $150 was reported stolen from an Ohio man's car at The Heights apartment complex parking lot on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. The theft happened between 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.9:43 p.m. Friday — Bradley M. Heath, 18, of Prospect was hurt when his car hit a tree on Kelly Road near James Lane in Muddy Creek Township. Heath, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.5:43 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Jordan R. Pucel, 22, of Industry, Allegheny County, struck a flashing construction sign on the Interstate 79 off-ramp in Cranberry Township. The crash knocked the sign down a small hill. Police said Pucel was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Thursday — An unknown burglar stole an all-terrain vehicle and chain saw from a garage at a Coaltown Road home in Cherry Township. The burglary happened Wednesday or Thursday.Thursday — An unknown amount of money was stolen in a burglary Wednesday or Thursday at Mercer Lime and Stone on Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township.8:25 p.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Kaitlin M. Hart, 20, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and Brittany K. Barger, 19, of Slippery Rock collided at Harmony and Branchton roads in Slippery Rock Township. Barger was treated at Grove City Medical Hospital for minor injuries. Police said Hart was cited for a stop sign violation.6:55 p.m. Wednesday — Michael Scott Rinehart, no age given, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car hit a guardrail on Mitchell Hill Road in Summit Township.4:56 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Jason J. Bresnahan, 26, of Butler went off the road and struck rocks and a culvert along Route 422 near Schantz Road in Prospect.Wednesday — A garage at Blackbird Industries on Mahood Road in Clay Township was broken into between 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.Aug. 23 — A 10-speed, Schwinn bicycle was found on Mushrush Road in Jefferson Township. The owner can claim the bike by calling police at 724-284-8100.11:25 p.m. Aug. 20 — A car driven by Kathryn A. Connolly, 19, of Renfrew hit a barbed wire fence, traveled down a grass embankment and rolled onto its roof at Valencia and Leisie roads in Forward Township. Police said Connolly was cited for a lane violation for being a minor driving with alcohol in her system.2:11 a.m. Aug. 7 — John J. Knox, 38, of Petrolia was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Route 138 and Webb Road in Clay Township.
12:25 p.m. Aug. 22 — A car driven by Kathleen F. Rex, 24, of Pittsburgh crashed into an embankment on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. Police said Rex was cited for a lane violation.3:24 p.m. Aug. 19 — A pickup truck driven by Taylor D. Kaplin, 17, of Rural Valley and a car driven by Eileen T. Keelan, 46, of Butler collided on Route 85 in Rayburn Township. Police said Kaplin was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.2:20 a.m. Aug. 15 — An unknown driver crashed his Dodge Intrepid into concrete barriers on the Buffalo Bridge on Route 28 in Buffalo Township, Butler County, before fleeing, leaving the car behind.Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.
Friday — A small amount of money was stolen in a burglary at Katie's Korner Ice Cream Stand in Pine Township. A cash register was damaged in the break-in between 10 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Friday.Thursday — Fifteen LED solar lights were stolen from the front yard at a home on Number 2 Mine Road in Springfield Township. The theft happened between 5:30 and 8:40 p.m.State Police, New CastleSaturday — Unspecified items were stolen in separate burglaries in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Both break-ins happened at buildings owned by Quality Aggregates. The first building was burglarized on Many Springs Farm Road on Thursday or Friday; the other building on Mount Hope Furnace Road was broken into Friday or Saturday.
