Man is accused of mail fraud, money laundering
PITTSBURGH — A former resident of Bradford Woods, Allegheny County, has been indicted on mail fraud and money laundering charges.
According to a news release Tuesday from the office of United States Attorney David Hickton, defendant James C. Platts, 59, was the owner of Easy Realty Solutions.
Platts used false information to get loans for prospective buyers of three residential properties in Allegheny County, according to the release.
In some cases, the potential buyers' income, cash on hand and rental payment histories were falsified, according to the statement.
Platts was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on four counts. He already is incarcerated, serving a federal sentence for tax evasion.
