Mars High School gets high-tech upgrade
The $11 million expansion and renovation at Mars High School includes the new robotics class room, at right. Other changes at the school include a new main office and nurse/guidance suite, a two-story addition with classroom space at the back of the building, additional space for the art, family/ consumer science and science departments and more classrooms for the technology, technology education and pre-engineering programs.
The auxiliary auditorium was renovated to make space for a new television/production studio.
Outside, the parking lot and driveways were paved, and new lighting fixtures added. The front of the main wing was refaced, and a brick canopy over secure entrances was added.
School opens Tuesday. Ninth grade orientation is tonight at 6 p.m.
