A Butler County man was arrested today after he allegedly possessed and distributed child pornography online, according to the state attorney general's office.

Shane Hinchberger, 25, had at least five images depicting children engaged in graphic sexual activity, according to the criminal complaint. The files were discovered by agents from the Attorney General's Child Predator Section conducting an online investigation.

After obtaining a search warrant, agents seized electronic devices to be analyzed by the attorney general's Computer Forensics Unit from Hinchberger's home at 184 McGregor Road, Clay Township.

Hinchberger was arrested following the search by CPS agents, assisted by state police. He was arraigned before Chicora District Judge Lewis Stoughton on five counts distribution of child pornography, three counts possession of child pornography, and one count of illegal use of a communication facility.

Hinchberger is in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail and a preliminary hearing is at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday before Judge Stoughton.
