Butler County's great daily newspaper

Actions are disgrace

I left Butler the day after the Pearl Harbor attack and came back about 10 years ago.

I feel it is my duty to express my feelings about our comedy TV show on Channel 10 — the show dealing with our elected county commissioners. The three commissioners are equally responsible for their actions and are a disgrace to our county.

Meanwhile, the voters of Center Township signed a petition to have their board of supervisors reduced to three members from five. Expenses have risen, and the size of the board should revert back to the way it used to be.

A petition for a ballot question on the issue was put together by former township supervisor Beverly Schenck. With help from others, she collected enough signatures to qualify for a vote.

The election result was for the board’s size to be reduced, but a Butler County judge subsequently ruled against the size reduction.

Based on the election result, township residents had the right to have the board’s size reduced as a means for saving money.
