An American Red Cross baby sitters training class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Butler Township Park Building (Sawmill Run Park).

The class is for ages 11 to 15 with emphasis on prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism.

Registration is required and the cost includes books and materials. Successful students will receive a course certificate.

Alameda Pool will open June 1Weather permitting, the Alameda Pool will open at noon June 1. The pool has a 104-foot flume slide, interactive water play structure, two diving boards, deep well tube slide, programs and classes, the Alameda Gator Swim Team and a concession stand.The pool will be open from noon to 7 p.m. daily through Aug. 25.Pool memberships are available between 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday to Friday at the park office.
