3 vehicle crash in Middlesex
MIDDLESEX TWP — Township police still are investigating a three-vehicle crash involving a school van that occurred just as rain started to fall Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Glade Mill Road and Overbrook Drive.
According to Middlesex Township police officer Randy Ruediger, a pickup truck pulling a trailer and driven by Thomas DeHart, 48, of Evans City was headed west on Glade Mill Road when it rear-ended a station wagon driven by Richard Zabinski, 44, of Gibsonia. The impact of the crash pushed Zabinski’s car into a school van driven by Yvonne Titus, 63, of Evans City, which was waiting to turn onto Overbrook Road.
No injuries initially were reported, but Ruediger said a girl in the van, one of six students from St. Luke’s Lutheran school in Saxonburg, was treated at the scene for a minor injury before being taken home by her parents.
All the vehicles involved were driven from the scene and no citations have been filed.
In addition to township police, Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company and Quality Ambulance responded to the 3:45 p.m. crash.
