Regarding Syria: It is no secret Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad is a bad guy. However, the world is full of bad guys.

If the U.S. strikes Syria, what sites would be hit and how would those strikes benefit those who are being murdered by the Assad regime? There are two conflicting stories regarding an apparent chemical weapon attack. One is that the regime used the weapons against the rebels and the other is that it was staged by the rebels to get the U.S. to help their fledgling revolution.

All of the U.S. military might used in Iraq succeeded in removing Saddam Hussein’s regime but shifted power to Saddam’s enemies, among whom were al-Qaida and other nefarious groups. The current situation in Iraq, although not shown on the news, is as bad as it has been since the U.S. invasion. Just a few years ago, the Obama administration threw its support to Mohamed Morsi and his Freedom and Justice Party in Egypt. Morsi already has been deposed by a military coup.

U.S. foreign policy of the past 50 years has shown the naivety of thinking that bombing bad guys or assisting anyone who is fighting bad guys will bring about good results. Will history record President Barack Obama as a man of vision or merely Bushbama?
