Pa. School Performance Profile system scores released

Scores for the new state School Performance Profile system were released for public display Friday afternoon, looking at everything from test scores, college preparation, attendance and more. It replaces the Adequate Yearly Progress assessments, which were scored only based on state exams students took.
Butler schools landed across the spectrum. Among the higher scores were Center Township and Connoquenessing elementary schools, at 93.3 and 91, respectively. Broad Street Elementary scored the lowest of any Butler school, at 66.4. Butler Senior High School garnered a score of 84.
“They gave us credit for the strength of our AP programs, vo-tech programs,” said district Superintendent Michael Strutt, which was something that had not been done before.
“Every single building, even the ones in the 90s, there are areas that we can target for improvement, and we certainly will,” he said.
