Police say drug use motivated burglaries

A suspected burglary crew may be responsible for as many as a half dozen break-ins in Armstrong and Butler counties.
The suspects’ drug use motivated the crime spree between Dec. 18 and Jan. 8, said state police Cpl. Dan Herr.
“The amount of heroin they were using was astonishing,” he said.
Some of the defendants claimed they were using 30 stamp bags a day.
All four alleged burglars remain in the Butler County Prison following their arrests last week in connection with two daylight break-ins, both in Butler County.
