12:32 a.m. Sunday — Justina J. Rivera, 27, of Butler was arrested after police said she was found under the influence of drugs at Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street.Police said they were called to the store after someone saw an impaired woman getting into a car in the parking lot. Officers got there and found Rivera in the vehicle talking on a cell phone.A search of her purse, a police report said, turned up a pill bottle, without a label, containing 41 pills of the prescription anti-anxiety medication clonazepam.She was placed in a holding cell at the police station until she sobered up. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness.6:43 p.m. Saturday — Cheyenne A. Karch, 37, of Butler was arrested after she was caught allegedly using a baby stroller to shoplift merchandise from the Family Dollar store in Pullman Square.Karch is accused of hiding $7 worth of items under a baby blanket in the stroller. Police said she had an 8-month-old baby with her.The suspect claimed she forgot she had taken the items. Karch, who has two prior shoplifting convictions, was arraigned on a felony charge of retail theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.Ralph Scott, 40, of Butler, who was with Karch, also was arrested after police found him allegedly impaired by drugs.He was taken to the police station and placed in a holding cell until he sobered up.Police said the Butler County Children & Youth Services agency was contacted about taking custody of Karch's baby.5:44 p.m. Friday — Joan M. Kemple, 57, of Butler was hurt when she crashed her car and ended up in the Capers Real Estate parking lot on Route 8.Police said Kemple told officers that she was traveling on South Main Street hill and turned into a private drive where she came to a sudden end and a large drop off. She said she stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake pedal and traveled over an embankment, landing on a concrete curb.Kemple was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

3 p.m. Sunday — Sandra G. McGinnis, 67, of Lyndora was caught allegedly shoplifting $669 in clothing from the Boscov's store, Clearview Mall in Center Township. She faces a charge of retail theft.Sunday — Someone stole the batteries, cables and brackets from a 77-year-old Pittsburgh man's golf cart at Moraine Camplands in Brady Township. The theft happened between Oct. 30 and Sunday.1:15 p.m. Sunday — Three people were hurt when two sport utility vehicles collided in Forward Township.Police suspect the crash happened when Raymond J. Baysek, 65, of Evans City fell asleep at the wheel, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another SUV on Mars Evans City Road about 100 yards south of Glenwood Avenue.The other driver, Linda G. Cataldo, 69, of Gibsonia, and her passenger, Judy B. Gross, 75, of Mars, were both taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries. Both women were wearing seat belts.Baysek, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was treated at the scene. Police said he was cited for a lane violation.Adams Township police, Evans City Volunteer Fire Department, and Harmony and Quality EMS assisted at the scene.10:20 p.m. Saturday — Police were called to an underage drinking party at a Nye Lane home in Muddy Creek Township, and found a Prospect youth under the influence of alcohol. A search of the suspect, a 17-year-old who police did not identify, turned up drug contraband.The teen faces charges of underage drinking and possession of drug paraphernalia.Thursday — More than $600 in tools were stolen in a burglary at a home on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township. The break-in happened between Tuesday and Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.April 1 — A camouflage-colored Hoyt Red Apple compound bow, six arrows and four fishing poles were stolen from a shed in a burglary at a home in the Lake Arthur Estates trailer park in Muddy Creek Township. The break-in happened between Feb. 10 and April 1. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

Saturday — An unknown thief stole a catalytic converter from a 69-year-old woman's van on Old Reesedale Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County. The stolen property is valued at $375. The theft happened between March 1 and Saturday.
