No sympathy

Regarding the story about the termination of Clinton Township road worker Blane Martin (“Ex-road worker mulls suit,” April 2, Page B3).

I would love to testify in a court hearing about Martin’s past actions against me. He destroyed all his defenses and arguments when he terminated my employment a few years ago merely to save money. He lost my respect when he canceled my health insurance coverage when my wife was in very poor health. He had no sympathy when I swallowed my pride and begged for a change of heart. There was no prior warning.

At a crowded public meeting, he stated he did not recognize my 30 years of seniority. He violated the state Sunshine Act with daily meetings with the roadmaster to get rid of me. He used his elected position to capitalize on his own interests to take my place as the senior road equipment operator.

I absorbed his constant bullying, thistle thorns being placed on my chair and untying my shoes. He threatened me to refrain from asking the supervisors chairman for any help because the chairman is not in his “loop.”

In 2009, Martin was punished by the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission for nepotism and other violations. I remember when the township scrap metal money was never put in the treasury. I recall the lack of efficiency overcharges of $16,000 for the salt-bin-pad; and a deal with the road-milling zipper machine that cost us taxpayers an extra $28,000.

I remember the shunning, when my boom-mowing job was given to a new, untrained roadworker and the resulting damage put the mower out of use for the year.

I could testify to a whole lot more if I submit a request to a federal judge to cancel my gag order. I would love to get my freedom of speech fully restored.
