Patricia Ann “Mom” Grubbs, 77, of Lancaster Township passed away on Thursday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Feb. 24, 1937, in Winfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Grace (Kennedy) Altman.

Patricia was affectionately known as “Mom” to everyone who knew and loved her. She enjoyed her job as a waitress taking care of truck drivers who passed through the Turnpike at the Howard Johnson's Service Plaza in Warrendale. She also worked as a shipper for Wolfe Brush Corporation before she transitioned into her role as a caregiver and homemaker for her family in 1985.

Mom was a member of the Harmony Moose Lodge and the Eastern Star. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed watching basketball and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Mom treasured her beloved dogs, Koby and Polli, and her two angel dogs, Babe and Sissie. In her free time, she loved canning, cooking for her family, baking, sewing and listening to country music. Above all, Mom loved her role as the farmer's wife, and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 45 years, Donald W. Grubbs, who she married March 1, 1969; her three children, Roderic Porter and his wife, Barbara, of Crystal Lake, Ill., Patti Yasenka and her husband, Alan, of Ellwood City and Scott Porter and his wife, Nancy, of Kittanning; her three stepchildren, Kathleen, Bruce and David Grubbs; her brother, William Altman and his wife, Dolores, of Butler; her sister, Sue Altman and her companion, Art MacDonald, of Cabot; her six grandchildren, Jaclyn Porter and her companion, Lance Czubaja, Zachary Porter and his companion, Sara Maness, Broc Johnson and his wife, Ashley, William Yasenka, Aly Yasenka and Amber Porter; her seven great-grandchildren, Luci and Gavin Whyte, Audrina and Adalyn Porter, Lucas and Jerry Porter, and Liam Czubaja; and several nieces and nephews.

GRUBBS — The family of Patricia Ann “Mom” Grubbs, who died Thursday, June 19, 2014, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter J. Everett officiating.She will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the American Cancer Society, P.O.
