George A. Sticht, 95, of Zelienople died Wednesday in Ellwood City Hospital.

Born in Detroit, Mich., April 18, 1919, he was the son of the late John F. and Bronwen Jones Sticht.

George was of the Protestant Faith.

He was a painter of graphic arts.

George was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the infantry.

He was a very proud Welshman who enjoyed writing, painting and singing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Reichert Sticht on April 6, 2010; one sister; and three brothers.

George is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Thomas “Buffo”) Toman of Zelienople.

STICHT — Friends of George A. Sticht, who died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople. Funeral services will then follow with the Rev. Gail Davis, pastor of the Faith Full Gospel Church in Zelienople, officiating.“The quiet man no longer speaks.”Burial will be in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.Additional information may be obtained at www.kinsey-volzfuneralhome.com.
