12:53 a.m. Wednesday — Richard L. Spinneweber, 33, of Butler was arrested after allegedly tussling with police officers responding to a domestic call at an apartment in the 300 block of North Chestnut Street.Spinneweber's girlfriend, Samantha Ridinger, told police that he grabbed her around the neck and choked her. He also threw her to the ground and placed her in a headlock. She suffered minor injuries.The defendant wrestled with and kicked at officers who tried to arrest him at his home. None of the officers were hurt.Spinneweber was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and resisting arrest, and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Monday — Police charged Thomas Lee Odom, 29, of Butler, stemming from a suspected drug overdose last week at Ritts Park.Police and ambulance workers were called shortly after noon Friday and found Odom laying unconscious next to a slide.Odom was revived after being administered the opiate overdose antidote naloxone. He admitted using two stamp bags of heroin, according to court documents. Police found two empty bags and a used syringe in his pocket.He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

Saturday — A thief stole a woman's black leather wallet from a vehicle in the 200 block of Jackson Street. The wallet had miscellaneous items, including the owner's photo identification. The theft happened between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.Anyone with information is to call 724-458-7925.

Wednesday — Police reported that William D. Ambrose, 59, of Winfield Township, who was reported missing earlier this week, was found safe. Ambrose had been the subject of a search since Monday when he failed to return home.5:43 p.m. July 2 — David A. Morrow, 42, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Stoughton Beach Road in Slippery Rock Township.
