East Butler Baseball will hold its seventh alumni event at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 5 at Kelly Automotive Park.

The gathering will take place at the Butler BlueSox' final home game of the season. BlueSox player and East Butler alumnus Cody Herald will be recognized.

All EBBA alumni and current players will be given a free ticket to the game at the ticket booth.

JEFFERSON TWP — Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, will host its 13th annual Memorial 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Walk Sept. 20 at the North Park swimming pool.Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., the run/walk at 9 a.m. Registration fees are $20 until Sept. 15, $25 afterward. HOUSTON — Former baseball star Chuck Knoblauch has been charged with misdemeanor assault after authorities in Houston say he hit and pushed his ex-wife.The four-time All-Star previously served a year of probation after being convicted of hitting his previous wife in 2010.His latest run-in with the law prompted the Minnesota Twins to cancel Knoblauch’s induction ceremony into the Twins Hall of Fame that was scheduled for Aug. 23.
