Pa. American to replace aging line

Pennsylvania American Water will replace more than 3.5 miles of aging water main in Butler County to improve service reliability and fire protection.

The cost of these upgrades s is about $3.3 million, according to a company news release.

Weather permitting, the company expects to complete all the work by December.

During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure.

Crews are installing new iron pipe in these communities:

• In Butler Township on Garfield Avenue, Hilltop Drive, Westview Drive, West Metzger Avenue, West Rockenstein Avenue and Young Avenue

• In Center Township on Sunset Drive

• In Connoquenessing Township on Dick Road

• In Butler on East Walnut Street, Jefferson Street, Taylor Street, Oak Street, Pillow Street, Rattigan Street, Reeder Street, Reo Way and Seventh Avenue

• In East Butler on Oak Alley

• In Lancaster Township on Little Creek Road

• In Saxonburg on Aderhold Loop, North Rebecca Street and Ridge Lane
