CHICORA — The Chicora VFW modified softball team recently won the ASA Class C Modified West state tournament in Meadville.

The team finished 5-0 in the 16-team tournament, defeating opponents from Erie, Sharon, Pottsville and Chicora.

Leading Chicora VFW offensively were Tim Geibel, Dustin and Doug DeFrancisis, Josh Friel and Adam Steiner. Dustin DeFrancisis was the winning pitcher in all five games.

Other team members are Tyler Slepski, Dylan O’Donnell, Cole Harvey, Eli Christy, TJ Hays, Jake Hays, Josh Steiner, Josh Reddick, Ben Sinz, Marc Hunka, Brandon Daughtry, Eric Tuck, Joey Friel, Luke Slater, Joe Steiner and Eric Young.
