County men remain in jail after being found with 188 packets of alleged heroin

PERKINS TWP, Ohio — Two Butler County men are in jail after police in Ohio found 188 small packets of heroin in the bed of their pickup truck last month.

Richard Williams, 36, of Butler and Kurt Leinenbach, 28, of Cabot face felony charges of trafficking heroin and possession of heroin following a traffic stop along the Ohio Turnpike July 26, according to Ohio Highway Patrol.

State troopers originally pulled over the 1994 Ford Ranger that Williams was driving for following another vehicle too closely about 9 a.m. near mile marker 166.

Based on their suspicions, troopers brought in a drug-sniffing dog and found the drugs in a duffel bag in the bed of the truck.

Both men were arrested and transported to the Erie County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
