12:06 p.m. Tuesday — Jennifer R. Vandervort, 33, of Dayton, Armstrong County, was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $180 in children's clothing from the Kmart store at Pullman Square.Vandervort, who has two prior shoplifting convictions, was arraigned on a charge of felony retail theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.4:05 a.m. Sunday — Anthony J. McCardle, 28, of Butler was arrested on a state parole warrant in the Clay Hills section. McCardle was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.11:10 p.m. Friday — Michael G. Watt, 37, of Lyndora was arrested on a warrant on East Jefferson Street. Watt was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant stemming from a July 24 disorderly conduct case in Butler.

10:18 a.m. Tuesday — Haley S. Sloan, 22, of Butler lost control of her vehicle while braking for traffic and struck a cement curb on Pittsburgh Road just south of the Picklegate Crossing. Police cited Sloan for driving at an unsafe speed and not wearing a seat belt.6:12 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by John E. Mahler, 43, of Butler rear-ended a vehicle on Benbrook Road at Route 68. Police cited Mahler for driving with a suspended license and driving without a license. Robert Rankin, 60, of Butler was the other driver.

7 p.m. Wednesday — A boy was caught with drug paraphernalia during a burglary investigation in Portersville. Police did not identify the boy and a news release did not indicate if he was cited.5:12 p.m. Wednesday — Stephen R. Rowe, 27, of Fredonia, Mercer County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 8 in Center Township.Wednesday — Unspecified prescription medication was stolen from a 46-year-old man's house on Herman Road in Summit Township. The theft happened between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.Tuesday — A 48-year-old man reported that sometime in the last two years someone stole his Ruger 9 mm pistol from his home on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. The gun is valued at $350.July 27 — A pop machine at Sportman's Supply on Route 356 in Summit Township was broken into and about $90 in currency and coins stolen. The theft happened between 9 p.m. July 26 and 7 a.m. July 27.

10:30 a.m. Sunday — Police are investigating a shooting in Toby Township. The suspect, who police did not identify, allegedly fired a shot into the ground outside his home on Reigel School Road during an argument with a 51-year-old West Middlesex man. No injuries were reported.The shooting is being investigated as a case of reckless endangerment but police did not say if any charges would be filed.
