4:30 p.m. Sunday — An unknown motorcyclist led police on a high-speed chase through the city, Butler Township and Penn Township.The cycle — a blue and white street bike, possibly a Yamaha — was last seen traveling south on Crisswell Road in Penn Township. Police believe the driver may be from that area.Police are seeking the driver, who is a white male wearing a camouflage jacket and white helmet. The helmet may have had another color on its sides, possibly blue or gray/silver.Anyone with information about the driver's identity is asked call at 724-287-7743.

9:09 p.m. Saturday — Robert Dantella, 57, of Cranberry Township was hurt in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Route 68 at Meridian and South Benbrook roads.The wreck was put into motion when a sport utility vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Butler girl collided with a pickup driven by Michael Keith, 54, of Butler. The impact forced the SUV into the pickup that Dantella was driving.Dantella was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Butler Ambulance Service and Butler Township Fire District 3 assisted at the scene.Police said the girl, who they did not identify, was cited for failing to stop at a red light.11:15 p.m. Friday — Shanna R. Housekeeper, 22, of Bruin and Joshua C. Rock, 20, of Lyndora were both charged following an altercation outside the Walmart at Butler Commons.Police said Housekeeper struck Rock in the mouth. He received a minor injury. When officers got there to investigate, they found Rock was under the influence of alcohol, according to a police report.Police cited Housekeeper for harassment and Rock for underage drinking.7:07 p.m. Friday — David Hovis, 64, of Butler was injured when he swerved his car to avoid a deer and struck a tree along Saw Mill Run Road. Hovis was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

3:52 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Rodney W. Kriess, 42, of Butler rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on Route 68 in Summit Township. Lindsay K. McCall, 30, of Butler was the other driver.The Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene. Police cited Kriess for driving at an unsafe speed and driving with a suspended license.Monday — An unknown thief between Saturday and Monday stole a 63-year-old man's license plate at a home in the 300 block of Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.2:03 a.m. Aug. 6 — Christy A. Negrette, 41, of Cabot lost control of her sport utility vehicle, struck a utility pole and overturned along Dinnerbell Road just east of Golden City Road in Jefferson Township.The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene. Police cited Negrette for disregarding traffic lanes.

Aug. 11 — An unknown thief stole a 39-year-old Parker man's check out of a payment box for a boat ramp on the Allegheny River. The suspect later forged and cashed the check at Emery's Outlet Express in Callensburg. The theft happened between Aug. 3 and 11.

Friday — Police charged William E. Bracken Sr., 40, of Ford City with illegally trying to buy a pistol from a Manor Township gun store earlier this year.Police allege Bracken lied on his application May 12 to buy the firearm at Czars Firearms.When his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state, he was denied the purchase, a police report said.Bracken is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and making a false statement under penalty of law, a misdemeanor.
