I agree with James Wright and his idea of selling the Alameda Pool to Butler Township, Butler City and Center Township.

As stated in Wright's letter (“Pool benefits limited,” Aug. 20), the local pools are struggling while our tax dollars go to support a pool that not many outside the Butler area use. It's time to stop subsidizing Alameda Pool.

If tax money in Evans City were used to help EDCO Park keep its head above the water, the residents would be screaming because their money was going to something they never used. So why aren't the residents of Butler County screaming at the commissioners to quit spending our money on something the majority of us don't use? The main reason not many speak up is that the commissioners won't listen to us.
