Lanigan captures 1st Lernerville win

BUFFALO TWP — Lernerville Speedway is suddenly kind to Darrell Lanigan.

After a number of frustrating second-place finishes at the Sarver oval over the past few years, the Union, Ky., driver finally broke through and won the Firecracker 100 earlier this season.

Lanigan came back to town Friday night and found victory lane again, this time taking the Working Man 50, a World of Outlaws Late Model feature worth $10,000. Rick Eckert of York finished second while Tim Fuller of Watertown, N.Y., took third.

Jared Miley of South Park was the highest finishing local driver, claiming 13th. Lernerville Late Model points champion Alex Ferree of Saxonburg was 15th.

Earlier in the evening, Russ King of Bristolville, Ohio, won the Uncle Sam 30, which was rained out on the night of the Firecracker 100. King won $3,000 for that victory. Vic Coffey of Caledonia, N.Y., was second while Garrett Krummert of Butler was third.

There were 38 cars in the pits.
