2:30 p.m. Wednesday — Eric J. Zmijowski, 33, of Butler was arrested on a warrant after a traffic stop on Garfield Avenue. When police searched the car, they found a small baggie of suspected crack cocaine, four stamp bags of suspected heroin, and a syringe, according to court documents.Police charged Zmijowski with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license. He is in the Butler County Prison, with bail set at 20,000 for the charges and the warrant.Zmijowski's passenger, 41-year-old Charles Montgomery of Butler, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.Monday — Police filed felony drug charges against Nicholas A. Pappas Jr., 25, of Butler stemming from a suspected marijuana deal at Ritz Park. Pappas is accused of selling a police informant an unspecified amount of marijuana for $55 on April 28, according to court documents.Pappas is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, both felonies. He also is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.12:37 a.m. Sunday — A suspected drunken brawl in an alley between West Fulton and West Pearl streets landed Brandon A. Norris, 22, of Butler Township in trouble with the law.By the time police got there everyone was gone but Norris. His clothes were muddy and grass-stained, and his face was red and swollen. He admitted being in a fight.Later, he cursed at officers and ran away. Police cited him for disorderly conduct.10:52 p.m. Saturday — Christina N. Zarnick, 30, of Summit Township faces drug charges after she suffered an apparent heroin overdose. Police found her down on the sidewalk at West New Castle Street and Fourth Avenue.An ambulance crew treated Zarnick and used the opiate overdose antidote naloxone to revive her. Police searched her wallet and turned up a used syringe and an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin.Zarnick is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Thursday — A burglar stole $2,500 worth of antiques and other property after breaking into a 91-year-old woman's home on Route 308 in Marion Township. Police suspect the crook broke a front window to get into the house.The stolen items included silverware, a tea set, jewelry and a lamp. The break-in happened between the first of the year and Thursday.Noon Wednesday — No one was hurt in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction accident on Route 8 at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.The crash happened when a sport utility vehicle driven by Rainy M. Rose, 28, of Fenelton rear-ended another SUV. The collision forced the other vehicle driven by Amber L. Donnelly, 34, of Butler into the back of a car driven by Janine S. Kennedy, 41, of Butler.Rose was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.Tuesday — Austin R. Kepple, 21, of Butler was charged with illegally trying to buy a 9 mm pistol this year at Sportsman's Supply in Summit TownshipKepple allegedly lied on both the federal and state applications March 25 to buy the handgun, according to court documents.The Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state, denied the purchase.Kepple is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.Sunday — A thief stole a purse from an unlocked car in the driveway at a home on Davis Road in Oakland Township. The purse was taken between 1 and 2 a.m.

Thursday — Police charged Jacqueline S. Wiest, 20, of Butler and Donald E. Haney II, 26, of Summerhill, Cambria County, in connection with the theft of $329 worth of tools Aug. 11 at the Lowe's store at Moraine Pointe Plaza.Haney, who has at least four prior shoplifting convictions, is charged with retail theft. Wiest is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.

3:20 p.m. Wednesday — Two out-of-state men were arrested after police found suspected drugs and a handgun in their car that they stopped on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.A “large amount of heroin, cocaine and a 9 mm handgun” were seized, according to a police report.The suspects — Neil C. Sealey, 25, of Rock Hill, S.C.; and Roy A. Johnson, 22, of Brooklyn, N.Y. — were arraigned on felony charges of drug possession and conspiracy. Both also are charged with carrying a firearm without a permit.They were arraigned on the charges and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $100,000 bail each.

Wednesday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Longhorn Corral on Route 422 in Franklin Township for serving alcohol during prohibited hours. Police said the bar sold alcohol on Sunday, July 20. An administrative law judge will hear the case.
