KC goalkeeper Olszak makes 2 saves on penalty shots in Gremlins' 2-1 win

David Olszak stopped two penalty shots and had 10 saves as Karns City edged Hickory, 2-1, in boys soccer action Thursday.

Noah Pollock had a goal and an assist and Spenser Myers also scored for the Gremlins (3-1-1), who led 2-1 until Hickory scored its lone goal with 2:52 remaining in the match.

Freeport 3, Deer Lakes 1 — Mario Borino scored a pair of goals and Isaac Bigenho added a goal and an assist for Freeport in a win over Deer Lakes.

Bigenho has six goals this season for the Yellowjackets (3-2, 2-2).

Mars 14, Highlands 0 — Noah Hudac, Andrew Diefenbacher, Dan Feathers and Corey Ferguson each scored two goals for the Planets.

Knoch's boys golf team upended Plum 194-199 at Saxon Golf Course Thursday afternoon.

The Knights (5-6) received a spark from a pair of juniors — Dominic Bozzo (36) and Christian Evanchec (38).

Titusville won with a 330. Corry placed second with a 350.

Led by Kyle Shingledecker's 81, Grove City was fourth with a team score of 364.

Titusville leads in the overall standings with 28 points, two points ahead of second-place Slippery Rock.
