Freeport scores victory in OT

Robbie Reichenbaugh scored his second goal of the game three minutes into the second overtime to lift the Freeport boys soccer team to a 3-2 victory at Slippery Rock on Saturday.

Isaac Bigenho also scored for the Yellowjackets (4-2) while Gavin McHattie and Mark Cessar both found the net for the Rockets.

Molly Joyce and Jenny Dudek both scored four times and added an assist in Slippery Rock's 10-1 thumping of visiting Warren.Bailey Boyd added one goal and four assists for Slippery Rock (4-1) and Abby Magliocca scored once and assisted once.

Mars' Brendan Knox placed third overall in Class AA at the Slippery Rock Invitational with a time of 17 minutes, 20.4 seconds.He was joined in the top 20 by teammates Nate Mrdjenovich (13th, 17:52.8) and Jake Porter (16th, 18:03.5).On the girls' side, Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic's Rylee Kopchak was fourth in the Class A competition at 20:22.2.In Class AA, Freeport's Natalie Dell finished 20th (22:55.6).

A-C Valley captured first place at the 12-team Brockway Tournament, winning eight sets and losing just two.After going 5-1 in pool play, the Falcons received a bye into the semifinal round, where they knocked off Redbank Valley.In the title match, A-C Valley survived a gritty Sheffield squad by scores of 25-10, 22-25 and 15-9.Sadie Longo totaled 18 kills and 19 digs on the day. Halee Wetzel contributed 13 kills and 21 digs and Katie Stumpner 13 kills and 19 digs.Melanie Lewis led the Falcons with 27 assists. Alyssa Babcock had 21 digs and 19 assists.
