Josephine A. Janick Wenzelburger

Josephine A. Janick Wenzelburger, 90, of Zelienople passed away Thursday at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born on Nov. 13, 1923, in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Budzisz Janick.

Josephine proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

She was a faithful member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople, where she helped maintain the church and cook in the kitchen.

Josephine worked as a waitress at the Kaufman House and enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, listening to music and attending polka festivals with her late husband. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her four children, Robert A. Wenzelburger and his wife, Barbara, of Zelienople, Sue Bilecky and her husband, Alan, of Oakdale, Bill Wenzelburger and his wife, Terri, of Pittsburgh, and Janice Kapko and her husband, Ken, of Stow, Ohio; her 12 grandchildren, and her 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Wenzelburger, who passed away on Dec. 19, 2009; her three sisters; and her three brothers.

Wenzelburger— Josephine's family will welcome friends of Josephine A. Janick Wenzelburger, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at theBoylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Fr. Lawrence Smith celebrating. Josephine will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Township.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Josephine's honor to the Catholic Hospice, 6200 Brooktree Road, Suite 220, Wexford, PA 15090.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Josephine's family at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
