SR stays unbeaten

The beat goes on for Slippery Rock.

The Rockets rushed for 384 yards and limited Titusville to 18 yards on the ground in posting a 48-6 high school football victory on the road Friday night.

Jared McDowell rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown for unbeaten Slippery Rock while quarterback Jake Whitmer ran for 84 yards and three touchdowns.

Slippery Rock hosts fellow unbeaten Hickory next Friday night.

Punxsutawney 54, Union 36Chet Carmichael scored touchdowns three different ways in a losing cause for the Golden Knights (2-2).Carmichael scored on a 48-yard run, an 80-yard kickoff return and on a 47-yard defensive play. The game was knotted at 22 at halftime before the visiting Chucks (3-1) put the game away.Lane Cicciarelli tossed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Cole Morris and Dugan Gallagher scored on a 2-yard run for Union.Dakota Thomas threw three touchdown passes and scored on a 26-yard run for Punxsutawney. Alex Young added a pair of short touchdown runs for the Chucks.

Greenville 28, Grove City 0The Eagles fell to 0-4 on the campaign with this shutout loss at home.
