Theodore E. 'Ted' Helgerman
Theodore E. “Ted” Helgerman, 77, of New Castle, formerly of Adams Township, passed away Friday afternoon at Ellwood City Hospital.
Born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Theodore and Elvina Shillinger Helgerman.
Ted had been a lineman for Duquesne Light.
He was member of and a eucharistic minister at the St. Kilian Church and the St. Joseph the Worker Church and belonged to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Kilian's.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a senior master sergeant for the Air National Guard at the 112th Air Refueling Wing in Pittsburgh.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Moyes Helgerman, who he married on Jan. 9, 1957; his children, Patrick (Keri) Helgerman of Columbus, Ohio, Christina (Albert) Weigand of Cranberry Township, Annette (Jeff) Brusca of West View, Mary Lou (Bill) Kingan of Penn Township, Stephanie Ann Helgerman of Columbus, Ohio, Rebecca Ann (Scott) Selzer of Kent, Va., and Trinity Ann Helgerman of Columbus, Ohio; his 13 grandchildren, and his seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl; his grandson, Tyler, and his brothers, Richard, Jerry and Jimmy.
