Imogene 'Jean' Wejner

Imogene “Jean” Wejner, 84, of Zelienople, passed away Sunday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born on Jan. 26, 1930, in Ashland, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Angus and Grace Newsome McLeod.

Jean was a lifelong and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She worked as a telephone operator for the University of Pittsburgh for many years.

In her free time, Jean enjoyed crocheting, genealogy, visiting the temples, and spending time with her family and her beloved Scottie dogs. Jean will be remembered as a strong woman who cherished her husband, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Herbert F. Wejner Jr. of Zelienople; her son, Carl R. Soave of Butler; her daughter, Mary Grace Soave of Cranberry Township; her five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Carmen S. Soave; her son, Rodney C. Soave; her sister, Anna Doris Lichauer, and her brother, Kenneth Porter.

Wejner — Jean's family will receive friends of Imogene “Jean” Wejner, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A funeral ceremony will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Jean's honor at the Cranberry Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2771 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Bishop Bernd Scanlan officiating.She will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Township.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Jean's family at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com.
