Butler Police9:53 a.m. Tuesday — A van driven by Chun H. Lee, 57, of Center Township and a tractor-trailer driven by David R. Koebler, 62, of Boyers collided at East Wayne and South Main streets.

7:49 p.m. Monday — David L. Gates, 45, of Butler was caught at the Walmart, Butler Commons, after having been previously barred from the store's premises. He is charged with defiant trespass.4:34 p.m. Sunday — Martha L. Sapar, 77, of Butler allegedly tried leaving the Giant Eagle store at Moraine Pointe Plaza with $350 in unpaid groceries. She is charged with retail theft.4:19 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Kathleen Ann Koontz, 67, of Pittsburgh struck the side of a car at Meridian Road and Highland Avenue. The other driver, Taylor Kovach, 21, of Renfrew, lost control of his car after the collision and hit a chain-link fence at the Bright Hope Community Church.Police cited Koontz for a stop sign violation.7:29 p.m. Sunday — Dusty L. Schnur 28, of Butler is accused in the alleged theft of haircutting tools at the hair salon in the Walmart at Butler Commons. Schnur is charged with theft of lost or mislaid property.9:25 p.m. Saturday — John Lee Mohan Jr., 31, of Butler was caught trying to steal a package of underwear from the Walmart at Butler Commons. Mohan is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.4:17 p.m. Saturday — A vehicle key with remote fob was found at the parking lot of Preston Park. The owner can claim the property at the police station, 290 S. Duffy Road, during daylight hours.4:23 p.m. Friday — Stephany L. Miller, 36, of Erie was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting a pair of shoes at the Butler Commons' Walmart. Police searched her purse and found “numerous items of drug paraphernalia,” according to a police report.Miller, who previously had been barred from Walmart because of an earlier incident, also was found wanted on a bench warrant in Venango County.The defendant was arraigned on charges of retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespass, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.10:10 a.m. Friday — Two Butler teenagers are accused of fighting at the Butler High School. Charged with disorderly conduct are 18-year-old Alisha Weisenstein and a 16-year-old who police did not identify.6:55 p.m. Thursday — A tractor-trailer refueling tanker driven by Greg Bickle, 48, of Poland, Ohio, backed into a car at the Get-Go store parking lot on North Main Street Extension. Pamela Shepard, 55, of Karns City was driving the car, which sustained heavy front-end damage.3:40 p.m. Thursday — A 17-year-old student at the Butler County Vocational-Technical School was cited for disorderly conduct after pepper spray was discharged in the locker room after school. Police did not identity the youth.7:31 a.m. Oct. 3 — Erik Williams, 36, of Butler was arrested after he was stopped walking in the middle of Hansen Avenue near the Picklegate Crossing. Williams gave police three different names after officers found him.The suspect, who is charged with false identification to police, was placed in the Butler County Prison on an unrelated bench warrant.

6:15 p.m. Tuesday — A repeat shoplifter was arrested after allegedly trying to swipe a home pregnancy test kit from the Walmart on Route 19 in Cranberry Township. The suspect, Tina M. Fowler, 32, of Butler, was previously barred from the store after she was previously caught shoplifting there, according to court documents.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Fowler on a felony count of retail theft and misdemeanor trespass. She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail following arraignment.Court records showed Fowler with convictions for shoplifting in Butler County in 2011 and 2013. In Beaver County, she was convicted of theft in 2001 and 2002, and of receiving stolen property in 2005.

Monday — Sean F. Miller, 21, and Louis J. Hebert, 29, both of Grove City, were arrested after they allegedly broke into an apartment in the 200 block of South Broad Street and stole a computer, flat-screen television, cell phone and Sony PlayStation video game console.Miller and Hebert were arraigned on charges of burglary, trespass and theft, and placed in the Mercer County Prison on $50,000 bail each.

9:45 p.m. Sunday — Tom T. Lambos, 54, of Grove City was hurt when the sport utility vehicle he was driving failed to stop at a stop sign, crossed over both lanes and crashed into a large ditch on Jordan Hill Road at Kennerdell Road in Rockland Township.Lambos, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Northwest in Seneca with moderate injuries. He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Thursday — A chain saw was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Slippery Rock Creek Road in Irwin Township.The theft happened between 4 p.m. Oct. 8 and 7 a.m. Thursday.11:59 p.m. Oct. 4 — Jack Lee Toth, 47, of Pittsburgh was arrested after allegedly assaulting a Beaver County woman during a domestic dispute on Bullion Road a little more than one mile north of Route 308 in Clinton Township, Venango County. Toth is accused of hitting 46-year-old Lori Ann Shaffer of New Brighton.The suspect was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and he was placed in the Venango County Jail on $15,000 bail.

7:43 a.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Deborah F. Rumbaugh, 54, of Butler rear-ended another SUV that was stopped on 356 at Burtner Road in Jefferson Township. Police cited Rumbaugh for driving too closely to another vehicle. Caitlin M. Boris, 24, of Butler was the other driver.6:30 a.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when cars driven by Stanley R. Hopper, 54, of Templeton, Armstrong County, and Michelle L. Hankey, 46, of Petrolia collided at Old Brick and Hilliard roads in Washington Township.Hankey and her passenger, Zane A. Hankey, 16, of Petrolia, suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts. Police cited Hopper for driving at an unsafe speed.7:01 a.m. Monday — Two people were hurt when a truck driven by Jeffrey M. Young, 39, of Franklin, Venango County, struck two oncoming vehicles, a pickup truck and SUV, on Route 8 just north of Centertown Road in Mercer Township.Young's truck traveled off the road after the collisions, struck an embankment and rolled onto its driver's side. He and Shelly R. Miller, 51, of Franklin, who was driving the SUV, were taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.Dustin S. Houpt, 27, of Harrisville was driving the pickup. Police said Young was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.The Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department and Superior Ambulance assisted police at the scene.

Oct. 3 — An unknown burglar stole a knife from a 75-year-old man's hunting cabin on Sopher Road in Wolf Creek Township. The break-in happened between Sept. 24 and Oct. 3.

3:34 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by a 15-year-old Prospect boy crashed into the back of a sport utility vehicle on Route 488 just west of Reno Road in Perry Township, Lawrence County. Police did not identify the boy, who was cited for careless driving. Alexander C. Lough, 18, of Ellwood City was the other driver.
