Butler County's great daily newspaper

What's improved?

Once again, a Pennsylvania legislative cycle ends with no reduction in the nation’s most bloated legislature, no property tax reform, no legislation that corrects the inequities in public school funding or putting state employees on a 401-K plan like the rest of us. Once again, we are all part-owners of a bunch of liquor stores.

Once again, corruption runs rampant in the halls of Harrisburg, and they are proud when they pass a “new” law that says they aren’t allowed to accept cash gifts. Did it really take well over 200 years for that rule to be created?

Status quo with all of the public unions, budget posturing at the last minute, and glitzy color mailings at taxpayers’ expense.

Send a signal. Vote them all out. You can vote them back in later. They will still be around. They will be more than happy to have their guaranteed pension accumulation clocks start ticking again. But if they think they have lifetime job security, then they are going to act like it. Or, in this case, not act at all.
