Fulmore hits 4,000-mark in CWNC victory

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic senior P.J. Fulmore reached the 4,000 career rushing yards milestone in a 48-7 Black Hills Conference football victory over host Bishop Canevin on Saturday.

Fulmore gained 128 yards and scored two touchdowns on the ground for the undefeated Trojans (8-0, 7-0), who led 34-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Fulmore added a 51-yard scoring reception from quarterback Adam Sharlow.

Jerome Turner tallied three rushing touchdowns from 43, 7 and 2 yards out and Mario Latronica scored on a 4-yard run.

Bishop Canevin saw its record fall to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in conference games.

Mohawk 42, Summit Academy 14 — The Knights fell behind 21-0 in the first quarter of this Midwestern Conference loss at home.

Summit (0-8, 0-7) did score back-to-back touchdowns in the second quarter to cut its deficit to just seven points. Javon Thomas scored on a 1-yard run and threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Shareef Clayton.

The Warriors (2-6, 2-5), however, scored the game's final 21 points in the second half.

Freeport (10-6-2) saw its season come to an end with an 8-1 loss to host Montour in a WPIAL Class AA first-round playoff Saturday afternoon.The Spartans improved to 17-2.No other details were available.Slippery Rock 12, Kennedy Catholic 1 — The Rockets overwhelmed the Golden Eagles, with Jenny Dudek scoring five times, Molly Joyce three times and Bailey Boyd twice.Slippery Rock (10-7) received single goals from Lilly Weitzel and Abby Magliocca.

Gavin McHattie, Nate Popejoy, Josh Jones and Ben Magliocca each scored for Slippery Rock in a 4-0 victory against Sharpsville.The Rockets improved to 11-5 overall.
