BUTLER TWP — Dollar General has received permission to build a 9,100-square-foot store on Route 68.

Butler Township commissioners Monday approved the plan for a 1.36-acre lot at 521 Evans City Road.

A farmhouse at the site, which is owned by the Ritenour family, will be demolished.

Company officials have previously said if the plan was approved, construction would begin in the spring and the store would be completed within 120 days.

DALLAS — U.S. airlines are raising base fares on many domestic flights even though they are getting a windfall from lower fuel prices.JetBlue Airways raised fares by $4 per round trip on a small number of routes Thursday, and Delta Air Lines picked up and greatly expanded the breadth of the increase, according to FareCompare.com CEO Rick Seaney and J.P. Morgan analyst Jamie Baker.The hike got an important boost when Southwest matched it a day later. Southwest carries the most domestic passengers.

HARRISBURG — Sears Holdings said Monday that stores in Bloomsburg, Chambersburg, Frackville, Lebanon and Pittsburgh Mills are slated to close.The spokesman, Howard Reifs, says the stores will begin liquidation sales Oct. 31 and close to the public in mid-January.Reifs says the closings are part the company's efforts to reduce expenses, adjust its asset base and accelerate the transformation of its business model.The closings are expected to affect 351 employees.
