Marion A. Woodling Emerick

Marion A. Woodling Emerick, 93, of Butler, formerly of Mars, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Dec. 31, 1920, in Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Agnes McHugh Woodling.

She was a graduate of Robert Morris School of Business.

Marion had been an executive assistant to the vice president of National Steel in Pittsburgh and was also a retired executive secretary for LTV Steel, formerly J. & L. Steel. She had served as a director of the National Secretary's Association.

A member of the Holy Sepulcher Church, she was also a member and Past Matron of the Mars Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and had belonged to the Mars American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her sons, Alan C. Emerick and his wife, Janet, of Butler, and David W. Emerick of Tarentum; her grandchildren, James T. (Nichole) Emerick, William A. (Dawn) Emerick, Sarah (David) Essary, and Michael (Amanda) Emerick, and her great-grandchildren, Noah, Jackson, Chase, Violet, Abram, Paige, Cora and Liam.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Emerick, who she married on July 23, 1948, and who died on Sept. 1, 2009, and by her four brothers.

Emerick — The friends of Marion A. Woodling Emerick, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at theMcDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Blessing services will follow at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
