Knoch soccer suffers 5-0 loss

Undefeated South Park (20-0) scored four goals in the first half and cruised to a 5-0 win over Knoch in the WPIAL Class AA soccer playoffs at Canon McMillan High School Thursday night.

Knoch finished the season 13-6.

Slippery Rock 3, Commodore Perry 0 — Mark Cessar scored two goals as the Rockets closed the regular season with a win.

Nick Stutz also scored for Slippery Rock (13-5), which will open the District 10 playoffs Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.

Austin Cassidy scored four goals to help Upper St. Clair beat Butler 6-4 in a Class AAA match-up at Ice Connection.The Golden Tornado (2-1-1) tied the game at 4-4 on a Marcus McCall goal 17 seconds into the third period. The Panthers scored twice in the final eight minutes to seal the win.Jonathan Fair, Ben Rodgers and Sam Gross scored for Butler.

Katie Stumpner had 17 kills and 17 digs as A-C Valley downed Keystone 25-22, 14-25, 25-21, 25-22.Danielle Kaufman added 14 digs and 10 kills, Melanie Lewis 10 digs and 19 assists, Halee Wetzel 17 service points and 22 digs and Alyssa Babcock 15 digs and 18 assists for the Falcons (13-2), who will open the District 9 playoffs Tuesday.Hickory 3, Slippery Rock 0 — The Rockets' season ended in a 25-15, 25-16, 25-13 loss.Slippery Rock finished 5-10 this season.
