Slippery Rock University lineman Joe Phillips was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in The Rock's 31-21 win over Indiana (Pa.) University Saturday.

Phillips registered three sacks, 4.5 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception.

SRU finished with eight sacks and four interceptions on the day.
