Woman's body found in Adams Twp house

ADAMS TWP — State police suspect foul play in the death of a woman in a rental house on Tenacity Trail.

The victim, who police would not identify, was discovered by a family member Wednesday evening.

Adams Township police got a call to the house at 11:30 p.m.

Lt. Thomas Dubovi of the Butler state police barracks said the 42-year-old woman had a gunshot wound to her head.

“Right now we suspect foul play was involved,” Dubovi said.

An autopsy will be done later today, said Deputy Coroner John Hanovic.

Dubovi did not say where in the house the body was found.

He also said the woman’s 5-month-old child was found next to her in a child seat. The child was unharmed.

Dubovi would not disclose how long the woman had been dead, and did not say whether the person who found the woman lived at the house.

He did say that a man who he would not identify was taken from the house in September on a homicide charge for a case in Allegheny County. He said that man remains in the Allegheny County Prison.

A neighbor said the house is owned by Jody Ellis, who lives next door at 103 Tenacity Trail.
