Ruth E. Smith Norris, 76, of Harmony passed away Tuesday while in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Oct. 22, 1938, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel Hoffman Smith.

Ruth loved being with her family, especially on camping and fishing trips. She also enjoyed traveling across the country with her husband on numerous motorcycle trips.

Above all, she will be fondly remembered as a strong woman with a heart of gold who always had a lot of love to give and most importantly, was always willing to help those in need.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, William P. Norris of Harmony; her six children, Sharon Mickle and her husband, Tim, of Harmony, Margaret Jurysta and her husband, Joseph A. III, of Evans City, William T. Norris and his wife, Elizabeth, of Harmony, Rose Anne Orth of North Carolina, and Betty Ruth Norris and Tina Marie Norris, both of Beaver Falls; her two brothers, Samuel B. Smith and his wife, Ruby, of Evans City, and Edward L. Smith and his wife, Audrey, of Evans City; her two sisters, Mary Alice Streeter of Ohio and Ethel Charlton and her husband, Tom, of Texas; her 17 grandchildren, and her four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Paul and Ronald Smith; her brother, Harold Smith, and four grandchildren.

Norris — Ruth's family will welcome friends of Ruth E. Smith Norris, who died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City. A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Harmon officiating.
