Niggel 50th anniversary
Bob and Vera Niggel of Chicora celebrated 50 years of marriage with their children and grandchildren at the Allegheny Restaurant in Foxburg. They also celebrated with a cruise to the Panama Canal.
Niggel married the former Vera Aggas on Nov. 21, 1964, at Springdale Lutheran Church in West Sunbury.
They have two children, Lynne Niggel-Conroe of Fredericksburg, Va., and Dale Niggel of Chicora. They also have three grandchildren.
Niggel retired as assistant manager customer service for Sprint Telephone in Butler after 37 years of service. He has been a Concord Township auditor for more than 50 years. He is the treasurer of the Butler County Farm Bureau. He is a U.S. Army veteran.
Niggel enjoys raising Black Angus cattle and driving his John Deere tractors.
Mrs. Niggel is a homemaker, supporting her husband in his many endeavors and does volunteer work.
The Niggels were foster parents for 18 years. They are members of the Butler County Historical Society.
They enjoy cruises, traveling and spending time with their family and friends.
Niggel has been a lay minister for 43 years and has served in nearly 100 Lutheran congregations and congregations of other denominations.
The Niggels are members of St. Mark’s North American Lutheran Church in Butler.
