2:21 a.m. today — David L. Weichey, 32, was arrested after he allegedly struggled with police trying to arrest him for public intoxication outside his home on Second Street.Neighbors called police to complain of the suspect's yelling throughout the night. Officers got there and found Weichey outside his home drinking beer. Police said it appeared he was intoxicated and they told him several times to return inside his house, or face arrest.The defendant refused to go into his home and officers tried to handcuff him but he resisted, according to a police report. After he was cuffed he again resisted when officers attempted to place him in the patrol car.Police said he kicked at a door and pulled away from one of the officers before eventually being taken to the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on charges of resisting arrest and public drunkenness.Monday — Police charged Lisa Bishop, 47, of Butler in connection with a suspected hit-and-run crash about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 10. Bishop drove away after her car struck another vehicle at East Wayne and South McKean streets.Officers later found the suspect's damaged car in a yard near her apartment in the 500 block of South Main Street. But when police knocked on the door, they got no answer. Police had the car towed away as part of their investigation.Later, Bishop contacted the towing company and told them to scrap the car, according to a police report. A company representative, in turn, notified police.Officers returned to the suspect's apartment but they still were unable to contact her there.Bishop is charged with hit-and-run, a misdemeanor. Additionally, she was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and failing to provide police with information following an accident.

Monday — Police charged Charles R. Hoffman, 35, and his wife, Jennifer M. Hoffman, 35, of Butler with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after officers found them about 1:35 a.m. Sept. 5 in a car parked on McCalmont Road.A search of the car turned up heroin and a syringe, a police report said.In addition to the drug charges, police cited Charles Hoffman for driving with a suspended license and driving an unregistered vehicle.4:49 a.m. Saturday — David Johnston, 72, of Butler was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck at New Castle and North Duffy Roads. The crash happened when a vehicle driven by Joseph Burger Jr., 41, of Butler pulled in front of the vehicle that Johnston was driving.Johnston suffered minor leg injuries. Police cited Burger for careless driving.11:20 p.m. Friday — Joshua S. Hall, 31, was arrested after he allegedly pointed a shotgun at police who were called to his home in Lyndora for a disturbance.Police said their initial call was for a man, later identified as Hall, who was holding a female at gunpoint and threatening her at or near his home on Bessemer Avenue.Officers knocked on Hall's door and identified themselves. He grabbed a single-barrel shotgun and “walked toward the door pointing the firearm at police,” according to a police report.He eventually put down the gun and came outside, where officers took him into custody. No one was injured.Hall was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and disorderly conduct. He is free on $15,000 bail.8:42 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Dillon Heyne, 22, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on North Main Street at Fairfield Lane. The other vehicle, driven by Jesse Skiles, 50, of West Virginia, was stopped when it was hit.Police cited Heyne for driving at an unsafe speed.

11:39 p.m. Nov. 11 — An unidentified maroon-colored vehicle struck and damaged a light pole in the 600 block of Woodland Avenue, and did not stop. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

8:15 p.m. Monday — John G. Bercury, 40, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was stopped going 81 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 422 near the South Shore exit in Franklin Township.Saturday — An unknown crook went on a one-man crime spree, breaking into homes and vehicles in Slippery Rock. In all, police identified 15 alleged victims in the areas of High Street, South Main Street, Slippery Rock Road and the Applewood Meadows housing plan.The suspect, a white male, broke into several vehicles, taking money and other miscellaneous items. Police suspect he also burglarized three of the vehicle owners' homes. Two of those homes were unlocked. But in the other break-in, he got into the house by using a garage door opener he found in the victim's car.Police said the burglar was in and out of the homes quickly, stealing money out of wallets that were just inside the door. The crime spree happened between 1 and 5 a.m.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.12:54 a.m. Nov. 15 — Douglas M. McBride, 29, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after a suspected hit-and-run crash at Evans Road and Barton Avenue in Center Township.

10:30 a.m. Saturday — Mark R. Balint, 44, of Ford City was seriously hurt when the pickup truck he was driving crashed and rolled on ice-covered Route 28 just south of Carriage Road in Redbank Township.Balint's passenger, Andrew H. Stone, 47, of Apollo, Armstrong County, was ejected from the truck as it rolled over, ending on its roof. Stone was not wearing a seat beltBalint and Stone were both taken to Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital with “major” injuries, a police report said. Their conditions were not known this morning.11 a.m. Nov. 11 — Mathew L. Sanders, 32, of Butler lost control of his sport utility vehicle and crashed into a yard, hitting a large shrub and several trees along wet and slush-covered Route 422, just west of New Castle Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Police said Sanders was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

6:34 p.m. Sunday — A child riding on an all-terrain vehicle was hurt when Tyler Warner, 25, of Emlenton lost control of the ATV and rolled over on Bell Road in Scrubgrass Township. The youth, who police did not identify, suffered unspecified injuries.The Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.10:51 a.m. Saturday — Christopher R. Perlak, 33, of Emlenton suffered minor injuries when the pickup truck he was driving struck a utility pole on ice-covered Route 38 in Richland Township, Venango County. Perlak, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.Police said Perlak was cited for driving too fast for conditions. The Emlenton VFD and Emlenton Ambulance assisted at the scene.
