HARRISBURG — Butler County Commissioner Jim Eckstein on Monday graduated from the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania Academy for Excellence in County Government advanced certification program.

Participants complete required courses in leadership, management, county legal issues and other topics. Candidates for advanced certification must complete additional classes.

The academy is a voluntary program that began in 1996. More than 120 county officials have graduated.
