NEW WILMINGTON — Knoch graduate and Westminster College freshman women’s soccer defender Abby Gore has been named second team All-Great Lakes Region.

Gore led a Titan defense that allowed 0.80 goals per game — second in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference — and posted 10 shutouts.

Westminster was 14-4-2 this season, 7-2 in the PSAC. Its 14 wins are the program’s most since 2008.

East Brady’s Kelly gets Dapper Dan honor

East Brady High School graduate and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly will receive the 2015 Dapper Dan Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kelly will be honored at the annual Dapper Dan Dinner and Sports Auction Feb. 10 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.

Kelly has had two surgeries in the past 18 months to remove cancer from his jaw and was pronounced cancer-free in September.
