Rockets win defensive struggle, 32-23

The Slippery Rock boys basketball team’s defense dug in deep during the third quarter against Greenville Wednesday night.

The Rockets shut the Trojans out en route to a 32-23 non-region win at home.

Ryan Dutton led Slippery Rock (1-2) with 18 points.

BowlingThe Butler girls bowling team beat Armstrong 5-2 at Family Bowlaway.Megan Paul led the Golden Tornado with a 606 series and high game of 211. Baylee Verner also rolled a 207 game to help Butler move to 2-0 in WPIBL Section 2 action.On the boys’ side, the Riverhawks swept Butler, 7-0.Dan Bellis (574 series, 222 game) and Hunter Lefever (221 game) led the Tornado, which fell to 1-1 in section play.
