2:17 p.m. Saturday — Thomas J. Reges, 52, was arrested on charges he assaulted his girlfriend, 50-year-old Diane L. Brown of Butler, during a domestic dispute the previous night at his apartment in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.Brown reported the alleged assault the following day. She told police that Reges had been drinking when he started arguing with her and then punched her in the face. Officers said the woman had a bruise and swelling around the right eye.Police found Reges at his home. They questioned him how his girlfriend got her black eye. He claimed Brown told him that she “had gotten bitten by a bee,” according to a police report.Reges was arrested on a charge of simple assault and taken to Butler County Prison.8:20 p.m. Dec. 4 — A car driven by Richard W. Lantz, 67, of Butler struck and damaged a utility pole on West Jefferson Street. The car's windshield was “totally frozen on the outside” when officers got there.Lantz was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.

5 p.m. Dec. 8 — Joseph F. Zunic, 43, was arrested after he allegedly attacked a woman during a domestic dispute at his home in the 800 block of Deer Creek Road.The alleged victim, Amy Olesnevich, told police that Zunic grabbed her by the neck, punched her in the chest and pushed her head against a bathtub, according to court documents. She claimed the defendant choked her until she felt like she was going to die.The woman suffered minor injuries including bruising to her chest and back, and a cut and lump on her forehead.However, Zunic claimed Olesnevich started the altercation and scratched him on his face. He was later arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail.

1:41 p.m. Sunday — An upstate New York man was caught with suspected marijuana and drug contraband after being pulled over for speeding on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Peter J. Correale, 44, of Fredonia, faces charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Sunday — A thief stole an 18-inch steel tanker truck door and two double doors off the truck at the Lake Arthur Family Campground. The theft happened between 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

8:40 a.m. Saturday — An 18-year-old Templeton woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed and rolled her vehicle on Iron Bridge Road in Rayburn Township.Police said the teen, who suffered minor injuries, lost control of her car after traveling over an ice patch on the road. The vehicle landed on its roof.

Sunday — Police reportedly identified a 27-year-old Grove City woman as the suspected thief who made off with $360 in merchandise from a grocery store in Coolspring Township in October.The woman between Oct. 9 and 13 passed three stolen checks, on which she forged with the owner's name, at Walt's Grocery Store. Police did not immediately release the name of the suspect, who faces charges of forgery and theft by deception.Saturday — A counterfeit $50 bill was used to buy merchandise at the Kwik Fill store on Leesburg Grove City Road in Springfield Township. The bogus bill was passed between 8 a.m. and noon.9:40 p.m. Dec. 8 — Antonio Devon White, 34, of Erie was arrested on charges he drove away with a 22-year-old woman along with her infant daughter and threatened to kill the woman. Police stopped White's vehicle on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township, Mercer County, after the woman texted a friend, claiming she was being held against her will. No injuries were reported.He was arraigned on two counts of unlawful restraint and a charged of terroristic threats. He is in the Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Dec. 3 — A Slippery Rock Township woman was the victim of an apparent identity theft. The thief used the woman's credit card account information to buy $3,294 in merchandise at a tobacco store in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County.
