CENTER TWP — A free Christmas concert, “Feel the Love of Christmas,” will be performed by the eight-piece band St. Andrews Cross at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Extension.

Arrangements will include seasonal favorites from B.E. Taylor, John Lennon, The Eagles and Bruce Springsteen, among others, set to a contemporary beat.

The show is appropriate for all ages.

“Welcome to the Monkey House” by Christopher Soergel will be Butler Little Theatre's next play.Based on the short stories of Kurt Vonnegut Jr., this comedy/drama will run Jan. 23 to 25 and 27 to 31 at the theater at One Howard St.The director is Phil Ball. Producers are Stephanie Kobil and Karen O'Donnell.The cast will feature Amy Cannard, Greg Crawford, Olivia Drohan, Samantha Drohan, Steve Fogle, Danielle Jacobson, Rebekka Lindsay, David Lynch, Dan McCarty, Sue Switzer and Denis Walen.Tickets are $12 and will be available to the public starting Jan. 15 by calling 724-287-6781 from 7 to 9 p.m. weeknights and performance nights.Curtain is at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The 18th annual January Ice Jam will bring together people of all ages to enjoy bluegrass music Jan. 2 and 3 at the Butler Days Inn, Route 8.As many as 32 different bands will donate their time and talent playing traditional, contemporary and gospel bluegrass music. PITTSBURGH — With the first of two African penguins hatching Monday at the National Aviary, people who view the nesting penguins can expect to see the parents taking turns incubating the unhatched egg and keeping the newborn, which is slightly larger than a golf ball, warm.The public can view the live streaming of the nest cam at www.PenguinNestCam.org.The penguin parents, Sidney and Bette, hatched two other sets of penguins at the National Aviary in 2012 and 2013.The new chicks won’t be named until tests in a few weeks determine their gender. The aviary plans to name the chicks after prominent individuals.
