Slippery Rock University women’s basketball senior forward D’Asia Chambers reached the 1,000-career point milestone, scoring 18 points in an 86-48 loss to Shippensburg at Morrow Field House Wednesday night.

Chambers, who scored her 1,000th point on a layup in the second half, now has 1,009 points in her collegiate career and became the 14th player in program history to reach the exclusive mark. She added six rebounds in the defeat.

The loss drops SRU to 5-4 overall.

Shippensburg (6-5) led 47-22 at halftime.

Men’s BasketballAntonio Butler (18 points) and Kelvin Goodwin (16) combined for 34 points in SRU’s 80-62 victory over Shippensburg (5-4).The Rock (8-2) led by just two points at halftime before out-scoring the Red Raiders 41-25 in the final 20 minutes.Jamal Gatali pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds for The Rock.
