Ex-school worker charged with having sex with student

PINE TWP, Mercer County — A former George Junior Republic school employee is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage student at the school.

State police in Mercer said Sarah A. Trumphour, 25, of Grove City had sex with the 15-year-old boy in June while he was on a weekend pass at his home in Parkersburg, W.Va.

Trumphour, whose job title was clinical manager aide in a residence hall, allegedly contacted the boy at his home via a cell phone she bought the teen before he left.

Trumphour allegedly met the boy at his home, picked him up, and took him to a hotel where they had sex, according to the criminal complaint.

The boy told police Trumphour also sent him numerous sexually explicit text and picture messages on the phone from June until he was interviewed Friday.

Police interviewed Trumphour after speaking to the boy, and she admitted to having sex with him in the hotel and sending sexually explicit text and picture messages, the criminal complaint said.

She also admitted to performing sex on the boy at least one time while the two were at the school, the complaint said. She also admitted to other inappropriate acts — such as kissing or hugging — on more than 20 occasions at the school.

Trumphour is charged with criminal solicitation and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, institutional sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, two counts of corruption of minors, four counts of criminal use of a communication facility, contraband and indecent assault.

Richard L. Losasso, the chief executive officer at the school, said in an emailed statement this morning that Trumphour allegedly had an “inappropriate sexual encounter with one youth while he was on a court approved three-day home pass.”

Losasso said the school told authorities upon learning of the allegations, and said Trumphour was been fired as of this morning.

Trumphour has a preliminary hearing 2 p.m. Jan. 7 before District Judge D. Neil McEwen.

The investigation is ongoing.
