Mary Jane 'Mitzi' Hohn

Mary Jane “Mitzi” Hohn, 83, of Chicora passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1931, in Butler, the daughter of the late Frank Vittu and Marie Blaha Vittu.

Mitzi was a member of the North Butler United Presbyterian Church. She retired from JC Penney after 21 years.

Surviving are her husband, John “Spike” Hohn, who she married on Oct. 5, 1951; her daughter, Shelly (Charles) Thoma of Franklin; her two sons, Bill (Grace) Hohn of Blue Bell and Eric (Lisa) Hohn of Butler; her nine grandchildren, Jen Fitzpatrick, Zack and Brittany Thoma, Meredith and Elek Hohn, and David, Aaron, Adam and Maggie Hohn; her sister, Renie (Paul) Kiser of West Sunbury; her sister-in-law, Irene Ponton of Columbus, Ohio; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Kudika.

Hohn— The friends of Mary Jane “Mitzi” Hohn, who passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Butler Church Road, Chicora, with the Rev. Mary Kitchen officiating.
