Blanche L. Hughes Mitchell of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Penn Township, Butler, went to be with the Lord for Christmas on Dec. 23 peacefully at her home in Florida with her loving husband at her side.

Blanche will always be remembered for her kindness, love of life and her pillar of strength.

She loved to paint, fish and play cards. She dearly loved her husband, kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, James L. Mitchell; her two sons, James “Marty” Mitchell and Timothy (Susie) Mitchell; her three grandchildren, Timothy Mitchell Jr., Shaun (Elizabeth) Mitchell and Emily Mitchell, and her two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl (Stokes) and Eugene Hughes; her brothers, Donald and Carl Hughes, and her sisters, Betty Sheakley and Ollie Wygant.
